1 killed in Sunamganj clash over paddy harvest

Foyaj Chowdhury, Sylhet Office  : A man was killed and  four others were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over harvesting paddy from a disputed land at Kubajpur her village in Jagannathpur upazila of the Sunamganj district on Sunday.
The dead was identified as Nurul Haque (50).

Police quoted locals as saying that there had been a long-standing dispute between Sohid Miah and Nurul Haque over the ownership of a piece of land at the village. Nurul Haque cultivated Boro on the land.
As Sohid and his men went to the land at around 1:00pm to harvest paddy from there, Nurul Haque and his supporters intefered and the supporters of the two locked in a clash, leaving at least five, including Nurul Haque, injured.
Police said Nurul Haque succumbed to his injuries on way to Jagannathpur Upazula Health Complex.
