Bangladeshi-born ex-British high commissioner Anwar Choudhury’s father dies in London

Former British high commissioner to Bangladesh Anwar Choudhury’s father Afruz Bakht Choudhury has passed away in London at the age of over 90.

Anwar Choudhury, now the British ambassador to Peru, told Reporter  Afruz Bakht died in London at 2am on Saturday.

His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at East London Mosque after Juhr prayers on Sunday, Anwar Choudhury said.

Afruz Bakht, hailing from Provakor pur, is a village of Jagannathpur upazila, Sunamganj District  in Bangladesh, has four sons. He moved to London several decades ago.

His son Anwar Choudhury is the first Bangladeshi-Briton to work as the British high commissioner in Bangladesh for four years from 2004.
