At least 12 people were injured in a clash between two groups of transport workers over occupying a CNG-run auto-rickshaw stand at Umednagar of the district town on Tuesday.
Police and locals said there had been a longstanding dispute between the auto-rickshaw workers of Baniachang and Sadar upazilas over taking control of the stand.
Following the dispute, they locked into a clash around noon when they attacked each other with local weapons and bamboo sticks.
The clash left 12 from the both groups injured, said Yasinul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
On information, police rushed in and took the situation under control, he said.
