The Election Commission (EC) has finalized its roadmap for the 11th Parliamentary elections, and going to formally unveil the electoral roadmap today (July 16).
EC’s public relations director SM Asaduzzaman at a press release issued on Saturday (July 15) said that the commission will unveil the roadmap at 11:00 am.
Chief election commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda will attend the roadmap launching ceremony as the chief guest.
Sources said that the EC will hold dialogue with political parties, civil society members, journalists and other stakeholders. It will sit in dialogue with election observers, women leaders and election management experts separately.
The EC will complete re-demarcation of the 300 parliamentary seats before the next polls.
The EC, however, has come out from its previous stance and dropped the issue of electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the roadmap.
The roadmap also contains proposals for preparing and distributing voter lists, registering political parties and increasing the EC’s manpower to finish its work within time.
