7 BCL activists sued for ‘derogatory’ remarks on MP
A case was filed against seven activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for making derogatory remarks about Mahmud-Us-Samad MP of Sylhet-3 on Facebook.
Emrul Haq, son of Abdul Rafiq of Balaganj upazila, filed the case with Balaganj Police Station on Wednesday under the Information and Communication Technology Act, said officer-in-charge of Balaganj police station SM Jalal Uddin.The accused are Raihan Ahad Joy, SM Muhit, Albab Khan, Masum Ahmed, Atif Ahmed, Aminur Rahman and Limon Ahmed. All of them were activists of Balaganj upazila unit Chhatra League.According to the case statement, Raihan Ahad Joy posted an image of Mahmud-Us-Samad MP on his Facbook page with a status, “Wanted Razakar, free the parliamentary seat”. The six others also made derogatory comments on the status of Raihan.Meanwhile, police arrested Albab Khan in this connection.
