A Moulvibazar court has ordered life in prison for an operative of Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh or JMB in a 2016 case filed under the Arms and Explosives Act.
The convict, Lutfur Rahman Harun, also faces trial for several others charges, including for the 2004 bombings at a shrine in the district’s Kulaura Upazila and the 2005 series blasts across the country, said Prosecutor Kripashundhu Das.
Harun was arrested in 2016 from Kulaura in possession of a firearm and ammunition. According to the case details, he was an activist of banned militant outfit JMB.
Sunday’s verdict came in the case started by police over the firearm found during his arrest.
