St Dunstan branch Labour party organises Iftar Mahfil and Social Gathering

St Dunstan branch Labour Party of Tower Hamlets organised an Iftar Mahfil and social gathering on 13th June in Stifford Centre in East London.

President of the organisation Shahanur Ahmed Khan presided over the event and General Secretary Samsul Islam conducted it where Mahbubur Rahman recited from the Quarn in the beginning.

The guests at the event observed a one minute silence in remembrance of those who died and affected in London Bridge, Manchester and West Minister Bridge attack.  The guests also denounced these attacks and emphasised on the importance on community cohesion public awareness to prevent further attacks.

Executive Mayor of Tower Hamlets John Biggs attended the event as the Chief Guest.  MP for Bethnal Green and Bow Rushanara Ali, GLA member Umesh Desai and Deputy Mayor Cllr Sirajul Islam attended the event as Special Guest.

The speakers emphasised that organisations like St Dunston are working as the representative of the organisation. They also expressed their gratitude towards the organisation for playing an active role in recent election.

Guests who took part in the discussion included Deputy Speaker Ayas Miah, Cllr Rajib Ahmed, Adam Alnat, Abdus Subhan, Sheikh Aliur Rahman, Sanu Miah and Shah Sohel Amin.

John Burn, Can Murphy, Moammod Ali, Hokrul Islam, Sultan Haidar, Mohiuddin, Ruji Jaman, Akter Hossain Chowdhury, Md Shafiqur Rahman, Md Shahidur, Faruk Ahmed, Kaji Jahir Ali, Shahin Khan, Abul Kalam, Ajijur Rahman, Abul Hossain, Atiqur Rahman, Ashraf Chowdhury, Zara Jaman, Faruk Miah, Belal Miah and others attended the event.

Nurul Islam conducted the Duwa praying for the peace for everyone in the universe.
