Once the people who told Bangladesh as bottomless basket, they are surprised today witnessing the development work in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has developed a lot in various sectors including education and health. Since the Hasina Government in power, Bangladesh has produced 12 thousands megawatt electricity in last eight years. The MP of Habiganj-Lakhai and member of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources parliamentary permanent committee Abu Jahir MP told this in a felicitation meeting organised Habiganj expats in London recently.
Prominent drama activists and educationist Dr Mukid Chowdhury presided over the meeting and Chowdhury Foyez Rahman Mostaque Advocate and Ajit Lal Dash jointly conducted it.
Special guests at the meeting were Awami League leader Abu Yusuf Chowdhury, Educationist Dr Hasnin Chowdhury, Journalist Matiar Chowdhury, Mirza Awlad Beg, Community leader Salauddin Taher, Ful Miah and Engineer Babu Shushanto Das Gupta.

The speakers told that, since the independence there have been always a minister from Habiganj. The speakers called on the Prime Minister to promote Abu Jahir as a minister.
