Bangladesh High Commission in London celebrated the 47th Independence and National Day in a befitting manner through holding various programmes in the evening of 26th March as Kensington Town Hall in Central London.
State minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam who is now in London, joined the discussion as chief guest. In his speech, he emphasised the important role of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He also talked about the socio-economical advancement of Bangladesh in recent days. He also commemorated the significance of expatriate Bangladeshis who played a hugely important role in the independence of Bangladesh.
The High Commissioner to the UK Najmul Quaonine remembered the firmer High Commissioner Mijarul Quayes who passed away recently.
Other guests who were present at the meeting included Fazle Hossain Badsha MP, Mahmud Us Samad MP, Rushanara Ali MP, Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury and Michael Burns of Friends of Bangladesh.
