Cop injured in ‘Operation Maximus’ at Borohat

A policeman sustained injuries in the irregular firing and blasts that are continuing around the militant den in Borohat area of Moulvibazar Sadar since SWAT launch “Operation Maximus” on Friday (March 31) morning.
The policeman Kawsar, a district police member, was injured in a blast believed to have been caused by bombs hurled by militants.
Moilvibazar district superintendent of police (SP) Mohammad Shahjalal told that Kawsar was taken to Sylhet Medical College and Hospital, but it is not clear how he sustained injuries. 

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) chief Monirul Islam said that it was a minor injury. Other than that everyone of the law enforcing agencies are safe and the operation continues.

Earlier, a team of SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) began an anti-terrorism drive “Operation Maximus” at the suspected den of militants in Borohar area of Moulvibazar around 9:50 am Friday (March 31).
