Ballistics test has confirmed that the bullet found inside slain journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul was fired from the shotgun of Shahzadpur Mayor Halimul Haque Miru.
The report stated the matter which was submitted to the court, as per of investigation in the journalist murder case.
Lawyer Advocate Abul Kashem Mia confirmed the matter on Monday.
He said that on February 8, doctors found a bullet (0.05 gram pellet) inside of the slain journo and sent it to Dhaka’s CID for ballistic test.
Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, Monirul Islam said he did not receive the report officially. So, nothing can be said before getting the report.
On February 2, the Daily Samakal’s Shahjadpur Correspondent was shot during a factional clash Shahjadpur between the supporters of ousted Shahjadpur Municipality Awami League president Abdur Rahim (VP Rahim) and the party unit’s Organisational Secretary and Mayor Miru in Monirampur area of Sirajganj’s Shahjadpur.
Later, the journalist succumbed to his injuries on the following day.
