Speakers attending the inauguration ceremony of Derai Welfare Association Sussex have said that non-resident Bangladeshi should come forward more vigorously to work for the benefit of humankind.
The ceremony was held at Alfred Leisure Centre in Sussex on 10 May and was presided over by the president of the organisation M A Qayum. The inauguration ceremony was jointly conducted by General Secretary Milik Miah Chowdhury, Moniruzzaman Royal and Tipu Chowdhury.
Former Mayor of Tower Hamlets Abdul Aziz Sardar attended the event as Chief Guest. Special guests were Alhaj Rafiq Miah, Syed Abul Kashem, Iqbal Hossain, Amirul Islam, Juned Ahmed, Siddiq Miah, Matab Miah, Abdul Monaf, Najmul Hossain Chan Miah, Shafique Miah, Masud Sardar, Doctor Roab Uddin and Barrister Shahidul Haque.
On his speech, Abdul Aziz Sardar said that new generations are the future of a nation. For the real development and progress of the country, it is very important that the new generations are taught correctly.
The speakers wished a very successful future for the organisation and committed all types of co-operations and support if needed.
Guests who attended the event included Tahir Raihan Chowdhury Pavel, Mahir Hossain, Tofozzol Hossain, Shahnoor Chowdhury, Morshed Miah and others.
London living former residents of Derai also attended the event.
At the last stage of the event, prominent singer Nurjahan Shilpi, Shahnaj Shumi, Jober Akhtar Suhel and Shamsul Islam Rubel sang song which was hugely appreciated by the audience.
