Former Chairman of Mirpur Union in Bahubol Upozila of Habiganj and former Religious Affairs Secretary of Habiganj Awami Leage, Dewan Syed Abdul Basit passed away (Innanillahi … Rajiun). He died on 5 February in UCH in London. He was suffering from long-term illness. He was 61 years old and left four sons, wife and numerous friends and well-wishers behind.
His Namaje-Janaza was held in Brick Lane Jame Mosque after Jumma Praye. He was buried in Peace Garden in Hainault.
One of the organisers of liberation war in Habiganj, Dewan Syed Abdul Basit was Chairman of Mirpur Union for 20 years and served the local people. His eldest son and Managing Director of East End Logistic, Dewan Syed Abdur Rab has asked dowa from everyone for the peace of his father’s incorporeal soul.
